Our History
Heart of the Rockies Fellowship (HOTRF) began as a humble gathering
of believers meeting at Purgatory Mountain Resort, now known as Durango Mountain Resort. Largely serving the guests of the resort as well as those
who lived seasonally in the area, HOTRF originally operated under the umbrella of the Southern Baptist Church in Pagosa Springs.
The fellowship grew in number until it was decided to find a larger meeting place, enabling HOTRF to minister to those in the Animas Valley as well as the greater LaPlata County area.
On March 19, 2006, HOTRF members unanimously voted to constitute as an independent church. HOTRF continues to grow and seek new ways to serve the community of Durango, LaPlata County and the Four Corners Region.
Our Purpose
To introduce people to Jesus Christ
To help them grow in Christ-like maturity
To equip them for ministry to one another
To reach out in love to those around us and to the world beyond
To honor the Name of Jesus Christ as in God's own Son and our Lord and Savior!
